Event-related Drive
Request donations at your game or event.
Polaris-Vermillion & Vermillion Rotary Club routinely collect food & cash at events and donate them to VFP.
Ask people to bring donations of non-perishable food items or financial contributions to your next business event, potluck or retirement party.

Community-wide Drive
Promote a drive throughout your organization, church, dorm, campus or community.
Organizations like the Vermillion Postal Workers Union and Beta Alpha Psi at the University of South Dakota place door tags at residences announcing a specific date they will pick up donations.
Folks place donations outside their doors and your volunteers collect and deliver them to the VFP.

Tips for Generating Publicity
At least 2 weeks prior to the drive, create and distribute flyers, emails & social media posts.
Provide key info:
Suggested foods for contribution (specific items requested by the organizations, non-perishable foods, gift cards)
Date, time & location of event or food collection
Use the VFP name + logo
Your organization's contact info
